New – Take a Graphic Novel class @ Lillstreet Art Center

FYI for those of you interested in creating a graphic novel —

I just learned that the folks at Lillstreet Art Center are offering a class this fall called The Graphic Novel.

Taught by cartoonist Nicole Hollander, this Tuesday night 10-week course sounds awesome:

“What could be more exciting than combining words and pictures into a narrative?  Join us in our first studio course on one of the hottest new art forms, the graphic novel. Heighten your drawing skills while experimenting with different voices and characters to expand your story telling abilities.  Discuss book ideas with your classmates, get helpful and supportive feedback, draw storyboards and create your first chapter of a book or a complete short graphic novel.”

Trust me, even with my limited art skills, if there was any way for me to make the 6:30pm start time, I’d be all up in this.

(Lillstreet also offers classes in printmaking and bookbinding, for those with an inclination more towards the creation of books.)
